I hate that I am old enough to say things like, ‘In my day’, I am still only 28 — but I often find myself saying and thinking it.
I post heavily on a bargain website and in the run up to Christmas all manner of deals were being posted for kids toys and deals for computer games for £15 that parents would post; ‘Thanks, just ordered one for the little one as a stocking filler’, well a) computer games were unheard of as gifts for kids when I was young, mainly because hardly any consoles even existed then and b) £15, for a stocking filler?…a stocking filler in my day was something that cost just a few pence, maybe a few pounds if you were lucky!
It’s crazy how toys have evolved to be much more expensive, advanced and electrical — like the flying helicopters that cost £50 everyone seemed to be going mad for this year.
What ever happened to a simple metal slinky or a board game where you make your hippo eat a marble?
I think I would have loved the more advanced games of today’s age though, like the ones from MagNext Toys or the awesome Medieval Building set my nephew has, I was always into the gadgety and fantasy type toys even as a wee one.

….that is Survivors, the UK drama…not Survivor the USA reality show that I talk so often about.
I just started watching this last night, yeah I know…welcome to 2 months ago…but I was not that interested in it when it was on TV, but kept hearing people say how good it is and with little else on at the moment I decided to give it ago.
So far I like the concept, but one part of it has confused and annoyed me so much that I am not sure I will be able to watch the rest, I am anal like that.
But why did that woman, the one with the teeth, why did she seemingly die from the illness then wake up three days later? Will that ever be explained? But more so…if she saw that that was what happened to her…why did she then burn her ‘dead’ husband, surely if there was a chance he may wake up in a few days time you wouldn’t go torching his body?
Did I miss something, or is this a great big gaping plot hole?

I have already decided that I am getting my husband to be a watch for valentines day this year. I have been meaning to get him one for a long time now because he needs one and I just think that it’s a great gift to give someone you love as it is with them all the time and hopefully when they look at it, they will think of you.
He’s such a tricky guy to buy for though, the reason I have not already got him one is because we have had a hard time finding one he likes that I can afford, he’s very picky and has expensive taste apparently!
I’d love to get him a citizen watch as a surprise for Valentines Day but it is simply not going to be possible, because out of the 100s we have looked out he’s never liked one that I have suggested — so a surprise is out the window, he will have to pick it out himself.
I know what kind he wants, to the letter. this one for example ticks all of his boxes and I think it looks nice, but I bet if I showed it to him he’d find something wrong with it!
Men, hey?
