Shortest Eviction Voting Time…Ever?

phoneThere’s a Celebrity Big Brother eviction tonight — but we don’t even know who’s nominated yet.

We will find out in tonights show and the phone lines will open then, then not even an hour later the person with the most votes will be leaving.

How insane is that? Why are they even bothering?

They might as well just have some sort of twist, or game, or random draw that decides who goes.

How very silly.

The Hudson River Miracle

The first thing I heard about the plane emergency landing in the Hudson River was when a friend of mine posted on my forums about it — my forum is a tiny place where just myself and a few friends hang out, so it’s definitely the last place I expect to find out breaking news.

planeShe works in New York, just around 5 blocks away from where it happened — when I saw her thread called ‘A plane just crashed down the road’ I was terrified for her…and was extremely relieved when I went into the thread to discover that she was fine, as were all of the passengers and crew thanks to the skill and bravery of the pilot who performed the landing, it really was a plane crash miracle, Flight 1549 miracle could easily have ended very differently.

There’s loads of blogs out there with news and views about what happened, including MiracleontheHudsonBlog.com that has information on every thing from how pilots are trained to deal with such situations, to forums and communities where you can chat with others about the events.

I am so glad that the news has concentrated on this feel good story so much as well, with all the doom and gloom going on in the world at the moment…with wars and economic crisis at the forefront…it’s great to be able to hear some good news.

Dancing on Ice – Poor Gemma

skateShe wasn’t that bad…I think the reason she went home was because of the characters she played in Hollyoaks and then Eastenders, differentiating between soap characters and the actresses who play them seems to be a difficult thing for the UK to grasp lol

Poor love, out of every one she clearly wanted to be there the most.

I am glad that Melinda and Roxanne stayed in though, they are really likable and it doesn’t hurt that they are easy on the old eyes — I am a straight female for the record, but I still love to watch these gorgeous young things in their tiny sparkly outfits flying around the ice :)

I am looking forward to seeing both the men and woman dance together next week.

Military Gear

copsOne variety of reality show I really love is cop shows, you know the sort — dumb criminals, car chases and rookie cadets out on their first jobs.

I don’t know why I like them so much to be honest, it’s not like I have the desire to be a cop myself and I would actually hate it if any of my loved ones wanted to be cops — because I would fear for their safety too much.

I think it’s simply because they are ‘tough’ shows, big tough boys and girls dealing with people and situations that would reduce me to a big crying mess (speaking of which, last weeks Biggest Loser USA = huge blub fest, will post more about that later!).

This is the reason I also love military type shows, Bad Lads Army was awesome back in the day — take a bunch of loud mouth blokes who think they are tough and make them cry like babies when they get it really tough.

Hmm, maybe I am a little sadistic?

I don’t know where those guys got their gear from for the show, how could I? But you can get all kinds of military clothing including Tapco Products at BrigadeQM.com.
