Biggest Loser USA Week 5

I actually got around to watching this weeks episode early in the hopes I could avoid spoilers, and it worked :)

Unfortunately it wasn’t a very interesting episodes. Sending one team home for the week was a pretty neat idea I think – but there were no real stand out moments for me to wax lyrical about.

One thing that made me chuckle;

Team: Half dead digging about in the sand for a mystery prize.
Ali: Keep going guys, remember what you are playing for.
Rebecca: We don’t know, you didn’t tell us!
Ali: Oh yeah *laughs*, well, it’s a good one!

NUP_135192_0117One thing that made me grrr – Dina being discusted by her family eating unhealthy food on a night out at her old favourite restaurant. Not 2 minutes earlier she was telling us this was exactly the sort of stuff she was eating 6 weeks ago – yet she expects her family to just quit it all overnight because she has? There’s nothing worse than a judgemental former fatty! I wasn’t sad to see her ultimately sent home.

Heck even Tracey let me down this week, she was being nice, working hard and getting on with everyone – not an evil plan or eye rolling out of her head moment in sight. Come on girl, you are the season villain – you can do better than that!

Horoscopes

horoscopes2Even though when asked I would tell people I think horoscopes are ‘silly’, I always check mine each week in the copy of ‘Whats on TV’ I get delivered – so what does that make me?

I don’t know, I enjoy reading them and going ‘ooooh’ even though deep down I don’t buy them.

That’s not to say I think all astrology stuff is silly, just the mass produced cookie cutter stuff you get in the big publications.

I was on a horoscope 2010 a while ago where they do actual readings and I would be much more inclined to go along with those :)

I’m not trying to change him, just make him better ;)

funny-tshirtWhen my fiance and I first started going out he wore offensive t shirts all the time, and when I say all the time I mean all the time. The first time he met my parents he was wearing a mildly offensive one and he wore them to work! Now I don’t mind a good funny/rude t shirt, I own many myself to be honest, but I think there’s a time and a place, right?

Thankfully after 6 and a half years together I have managed to talk him round a little bit, so he only wears them half the time now ;)

Biggest Loser Week 4

I have only seen the first half of the episode so far, I will no doubt have more to say once I have seen the rest.

crazyeyesFirstly I need to start watching the episodes sooner. I added a bunch of contestants past and present on Facebook this week but forgot to take into account that they’d all be discussing the show – I am very anti spoilers as you know, so knowing exactly what happens in the episodes ruin them for me.

So either watch ‘em faster or remove them all as friends again, boo.

On to the show itself – Dina and jumping on the footstool, what am I missing? I simply didn’t understand the difficulty she was having with it at all…just…yanno…jump on it.

I will never understand why Bob and Jillian go along with the drama and crying when it comes to people switching teams or losing their partners — I feel like they ought to be telling them to suck it up and that it will ultimately make them stronger. I lost a lot of love for Bob last year when he did this and I feel the same again this year. I thought the UK lot were bad when this happened in the last UK series, but I clearly hadn’t seen any thing yet…Bob is not always going to be your trainer, you can’t take him home with you in your pocket…Rudy is not always going to be your partner, you can’t take him home with you in your pocket. Might as well get used to that now than in a few weeks time. Drama Queens.

Liz and Rebecca are nasty. I can’t get my head around every one hating on Tracy for the way she split the teams, she was never going to be able to make everyone happy and I actually think she split them pretty fairly. Liz and Rebecca’s reactions to the fact she didn’t do what they wanted were especially pathetic. She won the power, it’s her call bitches.

I also didn’t understand why the black team kept being referred to as the underdogs, as I said above the teams seemed pretty evenly stacked to me.

Bad memory

news_trudeCan any one remember the name of that reality show from eons ago that followed budding vets? Was is simply called…Vets? It was one of the first reality shows of it’s ilk and I was totally hooked on it, a couple of the people who were on it went on to be big TV personalities for a while – Trude something? And the dude with the hair?

Man I wish I had a better memory.

That show made me want to look up veterinary assistant receptionist jobs because I wanted in on the action. And that’s what TV is meant to be about after all :)

Looking for a morgue job?

I was wondering the other day who would be looking for morgue jobs? Like, out of choice? I realised that although I wouldn’t want to do it some people must do, otherwise no one would be doing it. If you are said person who actually wants to work in a morgue check out morguejobs.com :)

Pimp Yo Ride

pimpmyrideBeing a girl, who doesn’t have any interest in cars — I never watched Pimp Your Ride, what would be the point? But being ill the last few weeks as I have been I have watched quite a few shows I wouldn’t usually simply because I couldn’t be bothered to turn them off.

It’s actually a lot of fun, the humorous and silly nature of the show is enough to keep it interesting even for a non-fan.

It makes me want to go out and buy a diesel fuel pump to pimp my own ride, although I would have to actually buy a car first…and learn to drive.

X Factor week 2

x-factorWow, last week I was really impressed and didn’t want anyone to go home – this week I couldn’t care less who goes.

I can’t believe I am about to say this, but my favourite act of the night was John and Edward, purely for the “What are they doing?” factor.

Loved Lucie as well and Stacey sings like an angel and is gorgeous but her personality really grinds my gears – other than that I thought they were all average at best and atrocious at worst.

What was Cheryl thinking giving Lloyd ‘Bleeding Love’, it had disaster written all over it. I thought Miss Frank were dire. Hated Rachel and Danyl’s performances and I hardly even remember the rest!

What a disapointment this week was, I hope that next week will be better.

Call Center Fly-on-the-wall!

Callcenter2I am surprised they have not yet done a reality show based on call center services. It’s one of those professions that I think would make for interesting telly — everyone I know who works in a call center hates it and thinks that the customers they have to deal with are idiots, there are websites set up for ‘stupid customers’ where people share their stories. At the same time 90% of the public don’t like call center workers and think they are useless.

So it’d be good to see it as it really is and from both sides in a fly on the wall style reality show :)
