Thanks for the memories…

…dear Jedward, the bubble finally burst.

I had a feeling that this week was going to be their last. I really couldn’t see who they’d be able to beat in the judges vote and knew they wouldn’t go to deadlock again after having done it most weeks this series.

john-and-edwardBless ‘em, they knew it was over as soon as they were in the bottom two with Olly – it’s the first time I have seen them not smiling and the ‘save your life’ song they did was frankly terrible, how they ever got passed their first audition I don’t know (Yes I am a Jedward fan, but I am not deluded enough to think they can sing!).

They bounced back though – smiling and laughing and being gracious saying Olly deserved to stay.

Adios Jedward, I hope you get something out of having appeared on the show and you certainly made it a loss more interesting this year :)

80 Days Around the World!

bbc80daysI just watched the final episode of 80 Days Around The World and now I want to go out and buy Boat Accessories – it was a great ending to the series having Ellen Macarthur come and surprise them.

If you didn’t see it, several sets of celebrities were taking part in a relay race around the world where they were not allowed to fly – picking up items along the way to auction off for Children in Need.

I like travel shows in general as you know, because I am a total wannabe globe trotter and The Amazing Race is my second favourite reality show. But it was made all the more special because it featured celebrities and was in aid of a good cause.

Some of the places they went and people they saw were amazing. Others, well not so much – I definitely wouldn’t have liked to have been face with that sheeps head that Saira was, or have to sleep down on the floor of a boat next to loads of boat engine parts for several days like the woman from the new had to!

Still, it was a fun little series and I enjoyed it. I am glad I decided to give it a go because I missed the first episode so wasn’t going to bother!

Was I right to skip IACGMOOH?

Katie-Price-crop4So looks like I was right to decide not to watch this years I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here because as I predicted it has become The Katie Price Show – as I said to my mum, if I wanted to watch The Katie Price Show it’s on ITV2 constantly, so I would watch that.

It’s boring.

Despite the fact I don’t like her and know it will result in people feeling sorry for her, it’s boring having the same person do the trials each night. Yet the public vote this way every year – Fashanu, Jan Leeming, Natalie Appleton etc etc.

There are now rumours that her new boyfriend is heading into the jungle to propose to her as well, jeez.

Doesn’t sound like I am missing much anyway, usually everyone is talking about the show but I have not heard much this year so far – so I imagine it’s probably pretty dull.

Someone let me know when she’s outta there.

Bad news

I may have to do a finance job search in the new year, looks like my fiance may be out of work. His bosses just announced they are going to make lay offs and he thinks he’ll be on the chopping block for various reasons. That’s not a very nice Christmas pressy is it? :(

Powermat to the rescue!

This is a Sponsored Post written by me on behalf of Powermat. All opinions are 100% mine.

wiresIf you are any thing like me and every other 20-something-year-old, you probably have a ridiculous amount of electronic devices, and therefore a ridiculous amount of cables, wires and chargers!

At the moment sitting on my desk I have chargers for three phones, ipod, nintendo ds, rechargeable batteries, digital camera and my wireless headphones. I try to keep them all nice and tidy in a little plastic box, but of course it doesn’t work out like that and they end up strewn all over the place – causing the neat freak in me to cry a little inside!

Powermat It seems like I may have just discovered the perfect solution though in a product called Powermat. As the name suggests it’s simply a mat that will charge various popular gadgets such as your DS, iphone or blackberry – all without wires and the need to keep swapping chargers. The mats come in various sizes for use either at home or on the go and can charge as many as four items at a time, simply by placing them on it!

Erm, bliss.

Why didn’t I know this product existed before now?

I think with Christmas on the way and gadget loving relatives galore I am going to have a pretty easy time when it comes to buying gifts this year :)

The name’s Bond…

james_bond_skiingEver noticed that James Bond likes to Ski? Probably not as it’s a bit of a random fact, but as someone who grew up on James Bond movies thanks to my Dad it is something that I noticed because I always seemed to come away from watching them wanting to look up and book myself ski holidays despite previously having no interest in them. I believe we’ve seen James Bond skiing, usually away from gun wielding criminals, in at least 5 of the films – including the first Bond film I ever watched way back when I was just 5 years old – A View to a Kill. Also in my all time favourite Bond film – The World is Not Enough.

I was just thinking the other day that it’s been a while since a Bond movie came out and went to see what was coming next, and I realised I have not actually seen the last two! That would definitely explain why it seems like it has been a while as the last one I saw was Die Another Day in 2002. I have not even seen Daniel Craig in action yet.

Looks like I know what my plans for next weekend are, James Bond catch up time. Awesome :)

Pyramids for my 30th birthday?

pyramids_egypt-300x225We’ve been considering heading to somewhere in Europe in March for my 30th birthday, maybe France, maybe Greece – but I was just looking at all inclusive Egypt trips and actually it works out just as cheap if not cheaper than staying in Europe.

I would much prefer that to be honest, it seems a lot more exotic and special to say you spent your 30th in Egypt than in Kos or Calais!

Egypt is becoming a really popular destination for us Brits because of the prices and the vast array of things to do there for tourists.

Now I just need to work on convincing my other half, he’s not really the adventurous type!

Green with envy!

australia-sydney-opera-houseI just found out through facebook that one of my old friends is off travelling for six months around Australia – colour me jealous – you all know by now I love Australia and it is my dream to visit even for a few days, nevermind six months. They are going without a plan though, which I couldn’t do – they are just going to get there, find somewhere to stay for the night and then look for the best Car Rental Prices and start driving.

She’s a braver woman than I, that is for sure. If it were me I would already have the route planned, every place we were going to stay and all the best prices on car rentals!

So long orange team

I just got around to watching last weeks The Biggest Loser USA, and by last weeks I mean the one from Tuesday the 10th – I got a little behind, ooops.

I liked the red line but I don’t like that it resulted in Dan going home, he’s one of the least objectionable of the bunch. But he has been there twice and had his chance, so I guess it was the fairest thing.

Shay_Biggest_LoserI am glad that Shay went home as her dummy spit during the challenge was pathetic, and she seemed to have the attitude that she deserved and needed to be there more than any one else. Don’t get me wrong, I wish her no ill and I hope she goes on to lose the weight she wants to – I just didn’t like her attitude!

Interestingly, I don’t know if it was just the copy I had or if they didn’t show it full stop – but they didn’t do an update on her at the end as they usually do with contestants, hmm.

Roll on the next episode :)
