Join online prayer groups at Gods Faith Book

A friend of mine was telling me about a site she goes on as much as if not more than she does Facebook, it’s a lot like Facebook but it’s a place specifically for Christians to go and chat, hang out, socialise and even take part in online prayer groups and the like – it sounds like a good idea to me and a lot like a site I am a member of. It’s like Facebook but for people who are looking to lose weight – what I have discovered from being a member there is that people are so supportive and nice and you can be 100% honest and upfront, there’s always someone who has a similar experience to you and you can support others and have them support you. I only wish I had found this site years ago as a lot of the time throughout my weight loss journey I felt quite alone and like I was the ‘only one’ going through particular struggles.

Back to Gods Faith Book though, my friend has had an account there for months now and as I said, she loves it and spends more time on it than she does on Facebook where she says she often feels like she can’t say certain things she wants to say for fear of annoying or offending her non Christian friends.

If you are a Christian I think it’d be a great site to join, you can join existing groups on the site or even create your own so that you and your friends can chat and share prayer or find new friends who are like minded.

I am not a Christian myself so won’t be signing up but will be on the look out for more ‘niche’ social networking sites that are all about the things that interest me :)

Christian Home Exchange Directory

I am reading a book at the moment called Life swap, it’s just a typical trashy fiction novel, nothing special about it – but in it two women swap lives for a while to see how ‘the other half’ live and it got me thinking about why people don’t do this in real life as it seems interesting, exciting and something that is beneficial to every one involved. If two people are looking for different things and can offer it to each other, for a little while at least, then why not?

Turns out that sort of similar things do exist already though, but rather than fully swapping lives people just swap houses for a while – usually for career reasons where it’s simpler and easier for some one to be living in a different place than having to commute and if you can find two people looking to do the same thing then it makes sense for them to swap rather than each having to pay out to rent somewhere.

One such site is Christian Home Exchange. So what can they do? Well ChristianHomeExchange.com aims to help pastors who are planning a study leave to arrange an affordable clergy sabbatical by simply swapping residence with some one else in the same boat as them – it really is a clever idea that suits every one involved and I am surprised that more people don’t do it, not just clergy men and women but in other careers as well.

Although there might be some trust issues with people in other industries I guess, I can see why pastors would have no issue because lets be honest how could you find a more trustworthy profession? I know if I was going to leave my house in someone else’s capable hands a pastor would be the top of my list :)

I love my phone

I was just looking at samsung mobile batteries because I figure it will be easier to take a spare one on holiday rather than have to take a charger for it, as well as buy an adaptor. You can pick them up pretty cheaply on sites like ebay but I am not sure if I trust those one, I would hate for a cheap imitation to break my lovely phone.

New don joy knee brace

My friend needs a new don joy knee brace and has done for a while, she has used one for many years now but has never been able to get a new one – it was always ‘hand me downs’ and the like but now she’s in a position that she can get a new one she wants to make sure it’s the best, really good quality as well as a reasonable price.

Helping out F&F

I have a friend that needs help with her disability appeal and apparently I am the one to help her out. A lot of my family and friends come to me with things like this as they think that I am an excellent researcher online and it’s true that I am, it’s something I have had to do for my job for several years now and I love to help out friends and family so it’s fine by me.

Listen to that Porsche Exhaust

I have never really been someone that is interested in cars, they are something that get you from a to b – though being a typical girly girl I do like ‘cute’ cars, any thing that is pink or purple or has flowers on it is fine by me and I have always loved the look of minis and beetles and the like.

However when we moved in to our new house almost a year ago now (wow has it really been that long?) I think I fell in love with the neighbours Porsche as it just looks so sleek and gorgeous and my husband says that the special Porsche exhaust makes it sound smooth – so we are both envious of it, me because I love how it looks and him because he loves how it sounds.

The owner sure takes a lot of time and care over the car though – every weekend he’s out on his driveway doing something with it – usually polishing, cleaning, washing or otherwise sprucing it up. I once commented to my husband that I didn’t think I’d like it if he gave that much attention to his car but as he rightly pointed out every one has their habbies that they spend a lot of time on. I spend a lot of time watching and talking about various TV shows online and I spend a lot of time working out – similarily he likes to spend a lot of time playing computer games and playing snooker at the local club. So if someone wants to spend a lot of their free time caring for their gorgeous (and no doubt very expensive) car then so be it :)

Maybe one day we will be lucky enough to own a porsche but for now I am quite content just admiring my neighbours from the window :)

Have you checked out MyCube yet?

Hard to believe that social networking sites barely even existed several years ago, they are now such a large part of many people’s lives, mine included.

There’s a new social media site on the block called MyCube, but it has a few differences to the ones already out there – they include giving users complete privacy control, the ability to find people who share similar interests such as (like me :) ) television and fitness and a special currency that can be used to buy and sell items on the site.

To take part in the MyCube private beta please follow the link and enter the required activation code which is ‘blog’, enjoy :)

Loving Swarovski Crystals

I love love love my Swarovski Crystal beads, I have three of them now but I still want more – I love jewellery in general and have been a big Swarovski Crystal fan for years now. I put them on my pandora bracelet and they look great, they really show up the cheapo ebay beads I have on there haha
