Young and in love

I just did a Memphis job search for my niece to see what’s about, she’s thinking of moving out there to be with her boyfriend that she met online – sounds a bit scary to me as she’s only been with him for 6 months and they’ve only met up 4 times but you know, young people in love, there’s no talking sense to them haha

Soz Mum!

I was just looking around for some information on insurance online for my mum, I told her I would look into it for her ages ago but keep forgetting – she asks me every time we speak if I have done it yet and when I say no she says it doesn’t matter but you can tell on the inside she’s thinking “well bloody get on with it!” hehe

Spots spots go away!

I was just looking up information on acne cleansers for my niece, it’s been a while since I really suffered with acne myself as my teenage days are long since behind me but I definitely remember the torment of them – and how cruel other kids could be if you had less than perfect skin. So any thing I can do to help her out with them is a plus :)

A happy momma

Despite my views on diet pills and the like, my mum has just started taking CLA after reading lots of rave reviews about and one of her friends suggesting it to her having found success with it herself. I don’t actually think my mum needs to lose any more weight, she has a BMI in the healthy category but if it’s going to make her more happy and confident then so be it :)

Pick up some what?

dmc-2I was at the store earlier and got a phone call from my dad asking me to pick him up some hex caps and hex cap screws for a project he’s working on out in his shed (his favourite place in the world!). I said sure thing and hung up and then realised I don’t have a blue clue what exactly hex caps are – I had to call him back and ask him what department they were likely to be in!

They are basically very strong fasteners for us in construction!

I am taking them round to him this evening and I will be asking him what on earth he needs them for, I can’t imagine what he’s building in that little shed of his that means he require super strength ones!

Making ends meat

My mum worked in insurance a few years ago, but it was tough work as it’s very competitive – despite her best efforts at insurance marketing eventually she had to give it up. I don’t think she was that bothered really, she was never that interested in it as a career, it was just something she did in order to make ends meat!

Powermat to the rescue!

This is a Sponsored Post written by me on behalf of Powermat. All opinions are 100% mine.

wiresIf you are any thing like me and every other 20-something-year-old, you probably have a ridiculous amount of electronic devices, and therefore a ridiculous amount of cables, wires and chargers!

At the moment sitting on my desk I have chargers for three phones, ipod, nintendo ds, rechargeable batteries, digital camera and my wireless headphones. I try to keep them all nice and tidy in a little plastic box, but of course it doesn’t work out like that and they end up strewn all over the place – causing the neat freak in me to cry a little inside!

Powermat It seems like I may have just discovered the perfect solution though in a product called Powermat. As the name suggests it’s simply a mat that will charge various popular gadgets such as your DS, iphone or blackberry – all without wires and the need to keep swapping chargers. The mats come in various sizes for use either at home or on the go and can charge as many as four items at a time, simply by placing them on it!

Erm, bliss.

Why didn’t I know this product existed before now?

Reality Hell!

Someone recommended I watch ‘Reality Hell’ a few weeks ago, and although I am not a huge fan of prank shows I thought I would give it a go as it’s related to my favourite of all the TV genres.

I enjoyed around half the episodes I saw and hated the other half.

I love a good pranking, don’t get me wrong – but no matter how real they actually are the responses always seem faked to me when you see them on TV.

I have pulled pranks in my time, I love getting my other half – but my pranks are usually pretty lame, I don’t exactly have the best imagination! That doesn’t matter though because at least I know the reactions I get are real and I enjoy even the slightest real chuckle from a loved one more than a huge eloborate reaction from a stranger in front of TV cameras.

reality-hell_320Now, I just came across a Prank Call site a few days ago that I plan to make use of. As the name suggests they allow you to prank call your loved ones – all you need to know is their phone number. They have a big database of calls that you can select from to find that ideal prank and you can listen to them before you commit so you know exactly what you will be sending.

There’s one about illegal downloading that will be ideal for my other half so I am going to send it him tonight when he gets back from work – I might even win a Wii, ipod or flip for sending it as they currently have a competition running where every time you prank someone you get an entry into their competition, FUN!

Looking for work?

If you are looking for front desk employment like my friend was a few weeks ago then you should check out this site that I found at the time called frontdeskjobs.net, it is totally free to use and my friend found employment through them by uploading her resume within just a few days :)
