Replicas Rule
Posted in Current Events, Magazine, fashion, shopping on 08/08/2009 11:08 pm by adminI was flipping through some trashy magazine that my mum had passed on to me a few days ago and wondering why I was bothering — the content of these magazines really doesn’t float my boat, I don’t understand why people care what diets the celebs are on this week or who’s been seen partying where. In this particular magazine there was a big two page story titled ‘Oh No, Skinny Celebs’ where they were complaining about size zero apparently becoming popular among celebs again — the article included a picture of ‘scary skinny’ Jessica Alba and mused how small she was at a reported size 4. Jump forward about 10 pages and there is an article about how Jessica Alba ‘Beat the pregnancy pounds’, there’s an interview with her where she is being told she looks gorgeous and asking her how she did it.
What? If they can’t even make their minds up in one issue it really says a lot doesn’t it?
The only aspect of these magazines I enjoy is the fashion and style sections, but I am much better off buying actual fashion magazines for those. Sit me down with an issue of Vogue instead any day
Of course I could never afford the fashions that appear in Vogue, they had a feature on Louis Vuitton handbags that cost more than my first car a few issues ago.
But thankfully these days replicas rule the roost for us ‘normal’ folks with ‘normal’ bank balances, you can pick up fake designer name handbags for a fraction of the cost of the real thing and let’s be honest, 95% of the people who see you rocking the bag won’t even know the difference.
As long as you know what to look out for and make sure you get a good fake, I really don’t see the point in selling off a kidney to get the real deal
