I’ve been Bidazzled!

This is a Sponsored Post written by me on behalf of Bidazzled. All opinions are 100% mine.

Don’t you just love the reverse auction sites that seem to have started popping up all over the Internet in the last year?

I remember when I first started using regular auction sites and it was all exciting, after many years of using them they lose the buzz so having something a little new and different is always welcomed :)

The most recent one I came across was Bidazzled – it’s a US based auction site that launched just last month but is growing fast. I saw someone posting about them on a coupon code site I post on because at the moment there are loads of codes you can use when you register in order to get free bids – if you use code BBP1202A before January 15th you’ll get 15 free bids worth $15.

All you have to do then is place your bids on the item(s) you want and sit back and hope no one else bids before the timer runs out – a few seconds are added each time someone bids. Most of the items end up selling for over 80% off retail price. There’s also an affiliate program for those that are into marketing where you can earn extra bids for each person who signs up under you and then even ones that sign up under them!

I have better things to do!

I need to go to the shops one night after work and get some new furnace filters, how very boring – but we need them and the place we get them from is not open on weekends. I really should look online actually, it’s a while since I checked and there may be somewhere that sells the ones we need by now. I hope so, I’d rather not spend my evenings shopping for furnace filters!

Feel the bid!

online_auctionsOooh I just came across FeeltheBid and it looks like it’s going to be a great site I will often use – I am always on the look out for alternatives to ebay for one thing but also it seems like it could be fun – as they have different types of auctions and not just the regular ‘highest bidder wins’ one I am used to.

The reverse auctions look the best fun – the lowest unique bid wins.

You get two free bids just for signing up and you can get an additional 5 bids free when you make your first purchase using code mtc81 and if you become a fan on Facebook you get your bids doubled on your first purchase.

Seems I found the site at just the right time with so many offers running :)

Be a Dirt Devil

This is a Sponsored Post written by me on behalf of Dirt Devil. All opinions are 100% mine.

2009dirtdevilguide_250x250When you are considering what gift to give someone for Christmas perhaps a vacuum cleaner isn’t going to be the first thing that comes to most peoples minds. But the simply fact is people need new vacuums and Christmas is as good a time as any to get one.

If you’re anything like me you will love getting a good bargain, nothing quite beats that feeling of doing your research and deciding which item you want – then finding out how much less you can get it for.

Dirt Devil have created a super useful online shopping shortcuts that proved to be an interesting read. As a hardcore online bargain hunter I thought I already knew all there was to know – I already search for coupons, I use cashback sites and I know all the best price comparison sites. But a few of the tips were useful for me and things I had not previously considered – they have links to some great resources too, including websites that collaborate the best black Friday and cyber Monday deals and sites that list discount coupons and the list of abbreviations often used in the shopping and bargain world was especially useful.

Hey, it’s…erm…thingy!

Justin--Colin-3I was in Matalan (my favourite clothes shop fyi, yes I am cheap and proud :) ) the other day and noticed the selection of top design furniture from Colin and Justin, I stood there for a while thinking that I was sure I recognised those faces – then I realised it was Colin and Justin off I’m A Celebrity! How funny that I had been watching the show for two weeks but never really questioned who they were or why they were famous.

Well now I know, they are interior designers.

So there.

It’s officially Christmas month!

Despite Christmas adverts airing on the telly since late November and countless emails from companies telling me that Christmas is almost here – I refuse to start my Christmas shopping until December, heck I refuse to even think about what to buy people until December nevermind actually go out and get it!

Well now I can start thinking about it and I have decided to reign in the spending this year, I usually go overboard and despite my bargain hunting skills I still usually spend a small fortune.

Bulova-Watch-Dress-96B001I may still splash out on my fiance and buy him a nice watch though, I was looking at Bulova chronograph watches on BlueDial.com earlier and I think they might be just the ticket – they have loads of brands and styles with upto 70% off usual retail prices. I think he’d really like the style and design of the Bulova Dress 96B001 watch and at that price it really wouldn’t break the bank.

I was supposed to be buying him a watch for his birthday back in July but never got around to picking one out for him – he ended up with a heart rate monitor and cheap summer coat instead!

So I am sure he would appreciate it :)

Powermat to the rescue!

This is a Sponsored Post written by me on behalf of Powermat. All opinions are 100% mine.

wiresIf you are any thing like me and every other 20-something-year-old, you probably have a ridiculous amount of electronic devices, and therefore a ridiculous amount of cables, wires and chargers!

At the moment sitting on my desk I have chargers for three phones, ipod, nintendo ds, rechargeable batteries, digital camera and my wireless headphones. I try to keep them all nice and tidy in a little plastic box, but of course it doesn’t work out like that and they end up strewn all over the place – causing the neat freak in me to cry a little inside!

Powermat It seems like I may have just discovered the perfect solution though in a product called Powermat. As the name suggests it’s simply a mat that will charge various popular gadgets such as your DS, iphone or blackberry – all without wires and the need to keep swapping chargers. The mats come in various sizes for use either at home or on the go and can charge as many as four items at a time, simply by placing them on it!

Erm, bliss.

Why didn’t I know this product existed before now?

I think with Christmas on the way and gadget loving relatives galore I am going to have a pretty easy time when it comes to buying gifts this year :)

Short Break – Bargain!

Happy days, oh happy days.

I just booked a short break to Liverpool for December, Christmas shopping here I come. The best part, it cost £1 – yes £1! Free parking, free wifi access and a 10 minute walk from the town center.

10056_previewOf course I would prefer to stay in some gorgeous vacation rental homes in exotic locations like Fiji or Jamaica – but there’s a slight difference in price, £1 and a 20 mile drive up the motorway to Liverpool vs £100s on accomodation and flights to Jamaica.

Bit of a no brainer really isn’t it?

Now I just have to hope I didn’t book for an important TV date, knowing me and my luck it’s probably the weekend of The X Factor finale!

celtic engagement rings

celtic-engagement-ringsIrish traditions are rich and full of both whimsy and sentiment. This is especially true when it comes to weddings and marriage. The Irish symbolize beautifully the real meaning of marriage with their wedding rings. celtic engagement rings and wedding bands have a style all their own, but still lend themselves to adding your own personal touches. An antique gold ring with the telltale woven pattern is the perfect symbol of the blending of two lives.

It is customary in many Jewish, Christian or non denominational wedding services to exchange rings. To further highlight the reason you chose a Celtic engagement ring, you can include a brief message of its meaning on your invitation.

The meaning of the intertwined or woven pattern is symbolic of the blending and joining of two lives into one never ending circle. You can further enhance this message through the music you choose for your ceremony.

Irish or not, using Celtic engagement rings and Irish music will make any wedding ceremony and reception special. This is a day to always remember and the rings you wear will be a part of that memory long after the champagne is gone and the guests have returned home. Keep the feelings you have on that day a part of everyday with the symbolic ring style.
