Do something funny for money

red_nose_day2009I hope that everyone in the UK had their hand in their pocket tonight — to get some money out I mean!

Comic Relief is always great fun and I love that stars from all stations come together to provide us a great night of entertainment.

It was a shame I had to suffer through Davina Bloody McCall for the first hour and a half, but other than that, yay.

Love the Kilimanjaro climb — Gary Barlow, Cheryl Cole, Moyles, Denise Van Outen etc are all super stars!

Loved Robbie Williams turning up for a sketch.

Loved Comic Relief does The Appentice.

10/10

Bravo!

Inauguration Day

obamaI have not watched any thing on TV today except for the inauguration of Obama — mainly because there’s been pretty much nothing else on and I borrowed Wii Fit for a few days so have been playing that.

Honestly, as much as I was interested in the election and wanted Obama to win I don’t have much interest in the inauguration — the actual part where he gets sworn in? Yeah OK that’s cool to see, but do we really need the seven hours before it and the seven hours after it?

In the News Today…

Prince HarryI am a big fan of the news, I don’t feel like my day is complete without having read or heard the news at least once.

I tend to listen to Radio 1 during the day and they have a news bulletin every 30 minutes, so I generally get my fix from that — but I also follow news online and even via twitter.

I am currently following the story in the UK about Prince Harry having used racist language and the furore that has followed — typical UK, we love a good scandal over the silliest of things. The world has gone PC mad!

I read online news articles all the time and I like to use many different sources. I tend to stick with the BBC as I just find them to be the most reliable and no bias — and I avoid trashy tabloids such as The Daily Star like the plague, I can’t believe that any one takes those papers seriously.

I think the worst one though is the Daily Mail, at least The Daily Star doesn’t pretend to be a serious and intelligent paper — The Daily Mail is full of sensationalist nonsense and takes itself far too seriously.

Now, time for me to go listen to News Beat :)
