A disappointing end to a good season for me. Again someone who sat on the sidelines walks away with the prize. As I have said countless times I know the way Sandra plays is valid, it’s won the game for her twice, it’s just not for me.
I found it quite bizarre that she highlighted at the final tribal council that her main strategy was to get Russell out, but she failed – why highlight that you had no power or sway in the game? I can only assume she was hoping to pick up anti Russell votes.
Russell blew the final tribal council no doubt (having said that does anyone really believe he’d have won if he’d pandered to the ‘oh I’m sorry, I regret everything I did’ nonsense that Danielle seemed to be trying to push him into? I’m kinda glad he stuck to his guns!) and I don’t feel like he was robbed this season as he was last one but I definitely think he and Parvati deserved it a lot more than Sandra as they both had control over the game for a large part of it where she had zero.
I don’t begrudge her the win this season but it pains me to think people are now considering her the best player of all time – we’ve had some real duds win the show over the years, winning doesn’t automatically mean you played the best game – she wouldn’t even make my personal top 10 list.

Some other thoughts I had while watching the episode…
What was with the long pause in the Colby confessional? It almost looked like the producers forgot to cut it – maybe they were trying to build up the ‘..but I’m not giving up yet’ but it seemed a little odd.
Are Jerri and Coach not engaged/an item then? I was looking forward to that announcement at reunion.
Boston Rob refusing to shake Russell’s hand was lame. Although they all apparently hate Russell they all seemed to be getting along and playing nice at the reunion. I think once the game is over it should be the end to any nastiness (unless something really major goes down).
Does anyone know who Amanda voted for to win?
Even I was surprised that Russell won fan fave again, thought his popularity had waned somewhat and that Rupert had it in the bag.
I was bemused when he said he knew he didn’t win Samoa I am still bemused. It was interesting to hear he did change tactics because of that though and took people he perceived as unlikable to the final with him.
I have not read the other replies yet but I can bet it will be brought up that Russell was dumb to underestimate Sandra and be so cocky he could beat her – so I;d like to point out that they ALL apparently thought the same thing. Colby said as much in his final TC (We all want to be sat next to Sandra at the end because we can beat her), so it was obviously a pretty common opinion.
I was surprised Russell didn’t take out Parvati at the end, everything seemed to be pointing to him doing so and it definitely made sense to my mind. Would Jerri really have won if she’d been there? Hmm.
Biggest mistake in the game it turns out was not knocking out Sandra instead of Courtney before the merge – although as someone said upthread she’d have probably found herself in the final as well for the same reasons as Sandra, not being seen as a threat for the challenges and having coasted along not being seen as a threat to win the prize.
