The next big travel adventure we want to take is a month long trip to Australia and that’s already planned for early 2012, so a trip to Florida will have to wait for at least another year or so.

I was just looking at Florida houses for sale online and although it’s a long time away yet it’s pretty interesting and enjoyable to look. It’s great to get an idea about what sort of properties are available, what price range we could realistically afford and which specific areas would suit our needs and desires the most. My parents are also considering moving to Florida in a few years time which is a big pull for me – we moved away from my home town when we first moved in together many years ago and I always said that one day I’d like to live close by them again. There’s nothing quite like the feeling of having your parents just a stone’s throw away – even as an adult every one likes to have their parents close by…just not too close hehe

Will it ever actually happen? Well who knows, I have a lot of things on my little list of things I’d like to do in my life and most of them involve visiting or living in some exotic place so if I want to get it all done I had better get moving

Here in the UK the houses are generally much smaller and even a ‘typical’ house in America would be considered a large house here and a large American house would probably be considered a mansion. In fact here’s an interesting image that shows the difference in house sizes throughout the world. Interestingly Australian houses are not too far behind American ones, yet despite watching a lot of Australian TV shows as well I have never noticed the same thing when watching those.

I would love to live in Florida one day myself, it has long since been a dream and the fact that the west palm condos are so large and luxurious compared to what I am used to is certainly a large plus point.

A friend just got back from stunning angel island and has been making me green with envy with her tales and showing off her photos – of which she took literally 100s.

She says she loved the the whole area and the placed she stayed at, The Lodge at Tiburon, was simply stunning. They offer all the amenities you’d expect from such an establishment like an outdoor heated pool and complimentary Internet as well as a fancy whirlpool and Poolside cabanas.

That’s OK though because I still have the time to do all the things I have dreamed of doing, it just means I need to change my goals to doing them before I turn 40 instead and that gives me a whole new 10 years worth of action to play with – I may even add several new things to the list as well, just to keep me on my toes

This year however we’ve decided we really need to save all our money as we are setting up home together in August and it’s going to cost a small fortune. What with the rent, deposit and agent fees – not to mention that we will have to basically buy every thing you need for a new house as we currently have nothing other than a bed!

Of course it’s disappointing as who doesn’t love a good vacation? But I am working on the theory that it will make it all the better when we do get to go on our usual all inclusive holidays in 2011. Sometimes taking a break from something reignites that excitement for it

I remember the first time we went together, we had only been together a few months at that point but this deal came up and we just couldn’t say no – a week in the Canaries for less than £100 each, we’d have been mad not to! My parents don’t understand how we can do it like we do, not knowing when we are going and often leaving ourselves with literally a few days to pack and get ready but for us that just adds to the experience. It also means that I don’t have the time to spend hours researching where we are going as I tend to do, so when we get there everything (good or bad) is a surprise to us.
