Biggest Loser UK coming back :)

Good news Biggest Loser UK fans, not only will the show be returning on ITV in 2011 it will also be given a primetime slot. It will take on the American format of only airing once per week this time however. The show will run for 8 weeks and will again take on the couples format.

The Biggest Loser originally aired on Living for two series in 2005 and 2006, before moving to ITV daytime in 2009. Last year’s run was won by Kevin Sage, who lost 9 stone 6lbs.

Joint managing director Karen Smith from production company Shine TV said:

“Despite its cheeky title, The Biggest Loser is a hugely positive series which genuinely transforms people’s lives for the better.

“Last year’s winner Kevin has maintained his weight loss and has just completed the London Marathon while Jodie Prenger, who won a previous series, went on to appear as Nancy on the hit BBC Show I’d Do Anything when her weight loss gave her a new-found confidence.”

ITV’s director of factual, daytime and GMTV Alison Sharman said:

“This is a one of the great formats of recent years. It is a wonderfully entertaining watch, with powerful and inspirational stories at its heart. I am delighted that an ITV primetime audience will now be able to enjoy it.”

Check it first!

My cousin just started taking apidexin which I am not completely thrilled about. Mainly because she bought it online without doing any research or price comparisons – she says she saw it was on offer so just went for it.

You’ve always got to research these sort of things in my opinion and make sure they are going to work and that you are getting them from a reputable source!

Mum trying to lose weight

My mum has just started taking some supplements for weight loss, I am not sure of the exact brand name but they are the same ones my aunt took I think and she lost almost 4 stone with their help so my mum is very excited and hopeful that she will be able to shift some weight. I wish her luck, I know she will be a lot happier in herself if she can

Go slower

I can understand why people often want quick weight loss, if they want to look good for a certain event or fit into a certain dress etc – but I believe if you want to lose weight and keep it off slow and steady is the best strategy. Don’t go on a diet, change how you eat full stop and those changes will stay with you for life.

A happy momma

Despite my views on diet pills and the like, my mum has just started taking CLA after reading lots of rave diet pill reviews about and one of her friends suggesting it to her having found success with it herself. I don’t actually think my mum needs to lose any more weight, she has a BMI in the healthy category but if it’s going to make her more happy and confident then so be it :)

Well done Michael

I wonder how many people are running out to buy the best weight loss products after watching the biggest loser finale last week? Some of the weight losses were amazing – but I do have to admit I wasn’t as in to this season as previous ones but I am not sure why. It’s also interesting to note that according to BMI both Michael and Ashley are still classed as obese – even Stephanie and Sunshine who looked smoking are still ‘overweight’, crazy isn’t it?

Bruising like a peach

I think I need to start taking a womens multi vitamin because I am currently bruising like a peach and in the past when I have had this issue a vitamin has sorted me out. I like to think I eat healthily but because I am trying to lose weight and keep the calories low I am sure that it’s pretty easy for me to miss out on some essentials that I need.

Time for some new fitness equipment

I appear to be in a rut fitness wise, I always stick to the elliptical because it’s convenient and I actually like it – but I know you are meant to switch it up and not just stick with the same thing all the time. I do have other fitness equipment in the house like wii fit, weights, dvds and so much more but I just can’t seem to find the motivation to use it.

I didn’t like Masterclass

I didn’t enjoy the Masterclass episodes. There I said it.

I know we’ve all been asking if we could learn more from the show for years and I think the idea was good – I just found the episodes really boring and basic and I felt that I was being ripped off by one show a week. I gave it 4 or 5 weeks but did eventually stop tuning in for it.

I think if it does come back they should just have a 5 minute ‘health tip’ at the end of each episodes rather than a full on 1 hour or longer show once per week.
