Break in, BREAK IN!!

011810_home_securityIsn’t it funny how on TV shows such as Prison Break, 24 and Chuck even the most advanced Home Security Systems are taken out of action — if you believed every thing you see on the television you’d probably decide not to bother even having one!

You have eye recognition Home Security? Big whoop, according to Chuck a few episodes ago someone can just knock you out, photograph your eye, imprint it onto a contact lens and use that to gain entry.

Paid lots of money for the Best Home Security Surveillance System? Well that’s no good, according to Prison Break if you cause a distraction all cameras and security guys will focus on that, allowing you free run of the place.

My favourite was also in Prison Break, where they broke into a safe by simply drilling a hole into the lock.

I guess you have to forgive them, as they need to be able to do this for the plot to advance — there wouldn’t be much of a story if they couldn’t get somewhere they needed to be because they couldn’t break the security system. But it is amusing.

Thankfully actual effective home security systems do exist here in the real world like the ones from www.beachcitiesprotectiveservices.com :)

I’m an emotional wreck

girl-crying_lI have never been much of a crier at the telly, maybe once a year something would get me and I’d have a little sniffle, try to hide it as much as possible and then move on.

The last few weeks someone only has to look upset on the telly and I will start crying, full on tears rolling down the face and an inability to speak properly.

I cried when that bloke, whose name I can’t even remember now, died on 24 and Jack sat looking all forlorn by his body.

I cried during Neighbours when Callum saw ‘Santa’ in the sky and started to believe.

Yesterday I cried almost non stop through The Biggest Loser Australia, when Cosi, Alison and Sam turned up, when Alison and Shannan were reunited, when Sammy couldn’t look at herself in the mirror and then I was unstoppable when Alison mentioned having lost her husband recently.

I’d blame hormones, but I don’t think that’s it.

Maybe I am just getting more sensitive in my old age?

Did some catching up!

TysonI made quite a hefty dent in my to watch list yesterday, hurrah.

I watched an episode of 24, which was great, for me 24 is one of the very few US drama shows that has legs, 8th season and it’s still great and I look forward to it each week. Most US dramas turn to shit after the first few seasons.

Both episodes of American Idol, nothing much to say about that. I am not even sure why I am still watching because I don’t really care.

One episode of Burn Notice. He’s so hot, that’s the main reason I watch, purrr.

and also Survivor Tocantins, love love love Survivor and for once the editing got me — it seemed they were setting up a Sydney elimination and then it was Sandy to go, colour me shocked! Tyson is lame, he’s trying far too hard to be the bad guy that it just makes him look stupid — there’s being the seasons villain and then there’s acting the seasons villain Tyson dear, and we see straight through you!

Indeed, it was a good TV day :)

The following takes place between 4pm and 5pm…

Oh happy days, 24 is back — Four hours over two day? Bliss.

For me 24 is one of only a handful of American drama shows that is still decent, even after so many seasons — I find the most have awesome first two seasons then turn to crap. Lost, Alias, Heroes…I could name countless others.

I have only seen the first two episodes so far, I plan to watch the other two tonight so shall report back with my feelings then :)

Looking forward to…

I can’t wait to watch The Biggest Loser USA 7 which kicked off last night, I have it on my computer ready to watch but just have not had chance yet — I am hopeful I will get to watch it on Saturday and I am sure I will report back here once I have :)

I am also super excited for The Biggest Loser Aus 4 which begins right at the start of February.

Can’t wait to watch tonight’s episode of Top Chef after it being off air for a few weeks over the Christmas period and I can’t wait for the new season of 24 to start at the weekend.

Weee. All the telly is starting to come back after the slow period :)
