It’s Over, Nooooo

I am officially out of hiding, for the first time ever I wanted to get to watch The Biggest Loser Australia finale without having already found out the winner.

For me any of the four really could have won it and I wanted to watch it without knowing.

bobBob was the obvious winner in that he had the highest % and was a weight loss machine, but I did think there was a high chance he would throw it in order to let Tiffany win — the parents this season never made any bones about the fact they were there for their kids and wanted to get them far, and Tiffany had the double bracelet and the producers would have loved to have the gorgeous and sweet young mum as their first female biggest loser for sure.

Sharif was only a little behind in % and still had the weight to lose and although Sammy was the underdog she did still have the weight to lose — had this been a USA season where they get months at home rather than weeks, I think she really could have done it.

As it turned out, my favourite (along with Sherif and Teresa) won the at home prize, go Sean! Ben looked awesome, he was the only one that had really changed since the last time we saw him when he was still quite big. All the girls looked amazing, especially Meaghan and Holly and Mel….and…..big bad Bob won the title having lost a staggering 86.7kgs, that’s 193lbs for heavens sake, I am going to find out if that’s the biggest ever on any show throughout the world, it has to be surely?

Overall it was a great finale and I shall post my feeling on the series in general and the gap it has now left in my life in a few days time when I have had the chance to digest.

PS. Like a total nerd, I just added a bunch of them on Facebook hehe

Makeover Time!!

ep50_300309_tercryMy brain behaved long enough for me to get caught up on The Biggest Loser Australia, hurrah — three episodes in one sitting and I still wish there were more, I love this show.

Firstly, my wee heart is broken that Teresa was eliminated. I wish that she’d got to stay until the makeover episode and I definitely wish that it had not gone to singles yet so at least the blue team would have had to ‘pay’ for voting out one of their strongest, leaving the two weakest on their team.

I hate alliances, but let’s be honest they are smart and a season would be dull without one — if I were to go on TBL I would be damned sure to get myself in one, you only have to look at the past seasons to see they work, each year at least one member of a ‘power alliance’ has gone on to the finale, and last year it was all three in Sam, Alison and Kristen!

But it’s pretty easy to dislike them when you see weaker people getting further than they deserve to, and honest to god hard working people like Teresa fall victim to their plans.

Teresa rocked and looked aaaaa-maaaaazzzz-ing in her 2 months on segment, you go girl!

In make over news, Tiffany, Meaghan, Sean and Nathan especially looked absolutely gorgeous. I want Meaghans new hair do and I want it now, no joke I am booking a hairdressers appointment tomorrow.

They all looked brilliant though, well done to all of them :)

The Biggest Loser Aus Rollercoaster

Crash, Bang, Wallop what an episode.

I have never changed my mind about a person or ended up so confused in one simply 22 minute episode of a TV show before.

1. Can’t stand Nathan, hope he goes.
2. Oh wait, he’s giving up his place for Cameron? Wow..I might have to rethink my views on him.
3. Ah, he’s only doing that because he knows he’s going any way…thought it seemed odd.
4. But still, it is nice to go out with dignity.
5. I don’t want him to go now, why isn’t he FIGHTING?
6. He really should be fighting and scheming, that’s what he does. Dignity? Pah, he’s just a loser for giving up.
7. They should really have kept him to keep the team strong, even if he is a douche.
8. Ah it’s him, he’s going — aww it’s nice that he isn’t throwing a hissy fit and just leaving nicely.
9. Wait, what?! A letter for his eyes only? Oh they better not be saving him!
10. He gets got take someone with him?! Argh, thanks for reminding me why i don’t like him — stupid power tripping ego maniac bastard!

ep44_230309_meagsvoteI have no idea at this point if Nathan is leaving or not and I have no idea if they person he’s taking with him (Sean? Sharif? Bob? Oh please not Bob!) will be actually leaving, the Commando appearing at the end of the episode with a “Where do you think you’re going?” indicates not.

What a complete mind fuck!

Yellow by name, Yellow by nature?

Nathan continues to irk me, and every other viewer watching I am sure — his brother Andrew continues to fade into the background and come across more and more like a mindless drone as the days go by.

The Dark Blue girls and the Yellow girls fall below the yellow line, who’s going to go home?

Well, the Yellow girls — because they quit.

They stacked a ton of tuna and won $10k and a few days later decided they had had enough and it was time for them to go home to their ‘men’. I use the word men like that not because I don’t believe they are men, but because it just seems a little strange that an 18 year old and 20 year old be so dependant on and defined by their need to be with their men.

ep32_090309_couchsisbrosI don’t respect their decision, but I can’t help but love a bit of Holly. On revealing the news Nathan rolled his eyes, wobbled his head and went into a tirade about ‘…all the people who would have loved to have made it on the show…’ and she just outright shot him down, right then right there, and pointed out the only reason he was mad was because it messed up his game plan.

Gotta love the bollox on that girl.

But quitting, what ever would Emazon say?!

They both looked killer in their 2 month on segment though, so mad credit to them.

More Blue? Groan

ep28_040309_shocknathfinishWith the week of Blue domination on The Biggest Loser Australia finally over, I thought it was safe — but no, they have to then go and win temptation this week meaning that we will get another heavily Andrew and Nathan centric week as they take on ‘The Walk’, big fat hairy groan.

They consumed almost 5000 calories in 20 minutes between them in order to win temptation, how crazy is that?

Has any couple ever gone quite so far before?

It depresses me that this show airs things like this, and that Nathan seemed to proud of himself — I have no doubt that he went and binged as soon as the cameras stopped rolling.

I only hope that Michelle gives them all a proper flogging tomorrow, and judging from the previews that is exactly what is going to happen.

Too Much Blue

andrew_294x270Wait, what? I didn’t blog about The Amazing Race Australia yet this week? It’s unheard of!

I had best update you then, here’s what happened since I last posted about the Purple team getting eliminated….

It became the Nathan and Andrew show. Seriously, I don’t think any one else has had more than a few moments screen time this week.

It started when Ajay announced that the voting was not over for the night — it was time to vote for the biggest threat, dun dun dun, except not so much because it was obvious they wouldn’t be going home.

Predictably Nathan and Andrew, team Blue, were chosen and Ajay then informs us that they have the chance to stay. It’s 6 vs 1. All other teams average weight loss vs theirs. If they lose they go home, if they win they get to decide who goes home.

Green team have a bit of a freak out about this assuming they will be the target.

Delightful Bob gives his biggest loser of the week prize of getting to spend time with a loved one to…Nathan and Andrew.

Warehouse, Nathan and Andrew get to decide which group have to live off of $5 a day and which group have to live off of take away — they opt for the $5 themselves.

Andrew damages his knee, hospital visit, drama drama drama.

Sheriff and Teresa win immunity because Nathan and Andrew weren’t eligible. This means they also win the power of the walk — the walk reveals they have to give pleasure to one couple and pain to another. They choose Yellow for the pain and they are packed off to a ‘Dark New Force’, trainer Emazon who pretty much beats them about a bit and tells them to toughen up, then sends them on their way noting that they are not to tell any one about Emazon (cheese alert!).

Orange and Yellow have a bit of a blow up.

Nathan and Andrew commentate on all of these events by the way, their opinion is the only one that matters don’t you know.

Challenge comes around and the hamsters have to walk across a beam spanning a pool carrying weights. It’s Everyone Vs Nathan and Andrew. Everyone suck at it and only successfully manage to get across once in 90 minutes. Nathan and Andrew get off to a slow start but then kill it and bring back a score of 10. This means that everyone else has to now go without their trainer until after the next weigh in.

Win or lose (and based on the edit, I fully expect them to win) I will just be glad when this week is over. Too much Nathan and Andrew, far far too much.

Shock, horror, HURRAH!

shanmich3_570x428Wow they actually went there, they voted off the Purple team.

Season 4 The Biggest Loser Australia, the year of the game players.

I have to say I didn’t think they’d send Purple home, they all seem so hardcore in love with her and I didn’t think the producers would want her to go so early.

She really did need to be there, I think she only lost a few KG in the 2 months she has had at home??

I very much doubt that they are actually going to eliminate the person who gets the most votes, notice how Ajay never actually said they’d be eliminated? Just that they needed to vote for who they wanted to be eliminated, hmmm, sneaky — I bet the team with the most votes gets an advantage, or maybe are given a challenge to determine if they get to stay!

Also, cage fighting? Scary new female trainer? What what?!

Biggest Loser Australia, what an elimination…

ajay…and now it’s getting good.

That was an amazing elimination, I actually did something I rarely do — I shouted at the telly when Holly and Mel revealed their vote for the pink team.

Those pink girls could easily lose a few stone if they just knocked those ginormous chips off their shoulders. Why did they think they deserved to be there more than others? Why did they think they didn’t deserve to be below the yellow line.

Good on Sherif for completely smacking them down.

As for Nathan, don’t even get me started — I hate players like him who will pontificate that it’s just a game until the cows come home when it is him in charge and doing what he sees as best for him, but then throws the toys so far out of the pram they landed over here in the UK when the shoe is on the other foot.

Yellow played you, they did what was right for them. Get over it.

The Biggest Loser Australia – 2 days to go!

shannanOnly 2 days to go before it starts, not even that long really — this time in 2 days I will have watched the opening episode.

Squee Squee.

It’s a while since I have been this excited about a show, it is how I used to feel in the run up to Big Brother UK before it…well…got crap. I used to feel it over shows like Survivor and The Amazing Race also, but as much as I still do love them they are on so often that it’s hard to get excited — there’s never more than a few months gap between seasons.

I am sure I will be blogging about it almost every day once it begins, so prepare yourselves :)
