Go Julie

ep68_200409_julhomeNow that Julie from The Biggest Loser Australia is one hot momma she doesn’t need to worry about her husband leaving her, because if he does she will have no trouble pulling now — she could become one of those older women who like to date hot younger men, called cougars I believe.

She really was looking smokin’ at the finale :)

It’s Over, Nooooo

I am officially out of hiding, for the first time ever I wanted to get to watch The Biggest Loser Australia finale without having already found out the winner.

For me any of the four really could have won it and I wanted to watch it without knowing.

bobBob was the obvious winner in that he had the highest % and was a weight loss machine, but I did think there was a high chance he would throw it in order to let Tiffany win — the parents this season never made any bones about the fact they were there for their kids and wanted to get them far, and Tiffany had the double bracelet and the producers would have loved to have the gorgeous and sweet young mum as their first female biggest loser for sure.

Sharif was only a little behind in % and still had the weight to lose and although Sammy was the underdog she did still have the weight to lose — had this been a USA season where they get months at home rather than weeks, I think she really could have done it.

As it turned out, my favourite (along with Sherif and Teresa) won the at home prize, go Sean! Ben looked awesome, he was the only one that had really changed since the last time we saw him when he was still quite big. All the girls looked amazing, especially Meaghan and Holly and Mel….and…..big bad Bob won the title having lost a staggering 86.7kgs, that’s 193lbs for heavens sake, I am going to find out if that’s the biggest ever on any show throughout the world, it has to be surely?

Overall it was a great finale and I shall post my feeling on the series in general and the gap it has now left in my life in a few days time when I have had the chance to digest.

PS. Like a total nerd, I just added a bunch of them on Facebook hehe

I call shenanigans

On the escalator challenge on The Biggest Loser Australia a few days ago, can it really be a coincidence that they fell out of the challenge in the order the producers had placed them in on the escalator? Hmm.

We have seen this challenge before on other seasons of both the USA and Australian shows, but they usually only have a few people per elevator and they are bigger — they had five people crammed onto a really small one here where they had to remain within a really small looking roped off area — basically if any one that was placed higher up than others were to go out, they’d take the ones behind them with them as there was simply not enough room to pass them safely.

Basically there’s no way the producers hadn’t worked out who would last the longest…this makes me go back and think about all the other challenges and the placements of people, the prizes that came from winning the punishments for losing etc and wondering just how much of that the producers predetermined.

Back in the game!!

Sherif is back in the game na na, Sharif is back in the game na na woo.

I am so happy, if any one deserved it then it was him. I wish that Sean would have been the one to join him, but I knew it wasn’t going to happen — dude is already skinny as a rake, he just couldn’t have kept up. It broke my heart to see him disappointed in himself having only lost 600gs — he has nothing to feel disappointed about, he’s been one of the nicest and most inspirational contestants ever. Mad love to ya Sean.

Now, if only we could get rid of Cameron….

Remember John from The Biggest Loser 3?

john-l_t350I bet that John from last seasons Biggest Loser Australia wished he could have gotten a no exam life insurance policy, then he would have been able to stay on the show for longer — despite his stubborn nature that meant he refused to follow Shannan’s orders and got him kicked off the show because the producers just could not risk the medical consequences. He was so stupid for that as it was the chance in a life time.

I still remember what you did Adro!

0589824100Seeing the eliminated contestants come back for chance to get back in the game on The Biggest Loser Australia reminds me of the first time it happened way back in season one, and the awful way the final three and Jillian treated returnee Harry — Adro especially was a big child about it, saying how unfair it was and being really unkind to and about Harry. Adro ended up getting eliminated next, but at the start of the finale he was brought back into the game because Harry had been taking vitamins…yes vitamins, not diet pills like liporexall or anything, while he was out of the house.

It later came out that Adro has whinged and moaned and threatened with lawyers so the producers had had to come up with a way to get Adro back in. I always thought it was the biggest crock ever and am still bitter that Adro went on to win and was/is a very popular contestant — it seemed like I was the only person on the planet that saw his hypocrisy!

Sharif & Teresa Ra Ra Ra!

So, it’s goodbye to Meaghan and goodbye to Sean — the final 4 are ready and set and…oh…oh what’s that coming over the hill, is it a monster? Nope, it’s just Sharif, Teresa and the rest of the gang back to try and earn a spot back into the final stages of the game.

HURRAH.

It happens every year but it doesn’t make it any less awesome seeing old favourites return, bitter contestants being…well bitter, and the final x amount being pissy about how unfair it all is.

ep65_160409_orangevsSharif better be one of the ones to earn his spot back, as much as I did not want a lot of the others to go home and am annoyed that they only went due to ‘The Alliance’, they all actually fell below the yellow line and were voted off. Sharif was not, he was kicked out by Meaghan after a totally random and undeserved power was handed to her by the producers.

There was also an element of unfairness to Sean’s elimination in that immunity was not played for in that week, so he stood no chance if he fell below…every one else at least had the chance to try for immunity.

So those two are my picks to return. Would also love to see Teresa, Tania, Ramses, Ben, Stewart or even the pink girls back (for the drama!).

Bring it OOOOON.

The Alliance

shanmich3_570x428It’s hard to believe that ‘The Alliance’ in The Biggest Loser Australia was not even really known about until just a few short weeks ago, it seems like it’s all the show is about at the moment and I don’t know a single person who watches it that isn’t sick to death of the blasted, bloody, chuffing alliance.

The producers of this show undoubtedly know what they want, and go out to achieve it. Is it any coincidence that each of the 4 series now have had at least one alliance of really not very likable people last a long time, but ultimately ‘Get theres’ by the end?

Season one we had FAT, Fiona, Artie and Tracie. Season two saw Marsbar Munnalita, Courtney and Pati. Season three had Cosi, Garry and Nicola…and the much more likable and successful Alison, Sammy and Kristen. Season four went for Nathan, Andrew and the yellow girls for the first half the season and seem to be very much running with the Meaghan, Sam and Tiffany alliance for the second half.

I don’t include Bob, Julie and Cameron in that group because I think it’s apparent that although they are in the alliance, they also want the daughters to make it far…and if the chance comes they will throw themselves under the bus to make sure the girls stay in. They are willing pawns in the alliance, rather than active participants.

Ultimately I don’t dislike any of them, two weeks ago I loved them all, but alliances are just annoying to watch — when awesome and deserving people like Teresa and Sharif get eliminated, it’s hard to like the people who voted them out ‘Because they are stronger than me’.

Grow some balls and see if you can beat the best threw sheer balls and determination and hard work people!

Kaplooiebbbbrrrpumph

Did you hear that noise just then? That was the sound of my wee heart breaking in two.

First lovely Teresa and now beautiful Sherif — taken out of the game by the alliance of five, for no good reason other than because the producers of this show clearly like to see alliances work!

ep47_260309_rvesselWhen it was revealed that Meaghan would take the walk and the two options would be to either take out a girl or a guy I thought, yes yes yes, the producers have realised that this seasons is going to be extremely boring and predictable if the alliance of five is allowed to continue, they will give her the eliminate a girl option and she will have to take out either Tiff, Sammy or her own mother.

I about fell over when she pulled out the eliminate a guy option.

It just doesn’t make sense, where’s the fun for the rest of the season now? An alliance of four (Meaghan, Sam, Cam, Julie and Tiff minus whichever girl was eliminated) vs an alliance of three (Sherif, Andrew and Sean) is watchable, they are the underdogs but with immunity and a high chance Cam and Julie would fall below the yellow line together, it makes it possible that they can even things up.

Five vs Two, it’s game over.

I think it’s obvious the oldies will fall on their swords if they fall below with any of the three young girls, if any of the other two fall below the line with any one they will leave.

I really don’t now see how this season can end any other way than with the three girls in the finale along with either Cam or Nathan.

Booooring.
