When shopping goes wrong.

I went to the store today and all I came away with was some gorgeous p kaufmann fabrics, I am planning on making some new cushions for the sofa – but I actually went in to town with a list of things I wanted a mile long but no one seemed to have any thing that I wanted, either that I was looking in the wrong places I guess.

A really dissapointing trip indeed.

Loving banana republic

I always look out for banana republic coupons before making a purchase with them as I just love the brand, but it’s a little on the expensive side for my tastes – I’m usually a bargain basement kind of girl and don’t buy in to brand names, but I can’t resist banana republic and get really excited and happy whenever I get a new item from them :)

Loving Swarovski Crystals

I love love love my Swarovski Crystal beads, I have three of them now but I still want more – I love jewellery in general and have been a big Swarovski Crystal fan for years now. I put them on my pandora bracelet and they look great, they really show up the cheapo ebay beads I have on there haha

Jewelry maker?

I am thinking that I might get some jewelry making supplies and have a go at it, it’s something that I have long since fancied doing but never got round to it. I have seen some of the items my friends have made and they are awesome, I tell them they should sell them on ebay but they say they are just making them for themselves.

Replicas Rule

I was flipping through some trashy magazine that my mum had passed on to me a few days ago and wondering why I was bothering — the content of these magazines really doesn’t float my boat, I don’t understand why people care what diets the celebs are on this week or who’s been seen partying where. In this particular magazine there was a big two page story titled ‘Oh No, Skinny Celebs’ where they were complaining about size zero apparently becoming popular among celebs again — the article included a picture of ‘scary skinny’ Jessica Alba and mused how small she was at a reported size 4. Jump forward about 10 pages and there is an article about how Jessica Alba ‘Beat the pregnancy pounds’, there’s an interview with her where she is being told she looks gorgeous and asking her how she did it.

What? If they can’t even make their minds up in one issue it really says a lot doesn’t it?

louis-vuitton-batignolles-horizontal-handbagThe only aspect of these magazines I enjoy is the fashion and style sections, but I am much better off buying actual fashion magazines for those. Sit me down with an issue of Vogue instead any day :)

Of course I could never afford the fashions that appear in Vogue, they had a feature on Louis Vuitton handbags that cost more than my first car a few issues ago.

But thankfully these days replicas rule the roost for us ‘normal’ folks with ‘normal’ bank balances, you can pick up fake designer name handbags for a fraction of the cost of the real thing and let’s be honest, 95% of the people who see you rocking the bag won’t even know the difference.

As long as you know what to look out for and make sure you get a good fake, I really don’t see the point in selling off a kidney to get the real deal :)

America’s Next Top Model Is…

tyra_070829095609646_wideweb__300x375-750978…maaaaaaaaan, I just found out who won America’s Next Top Model before I had the chance to watch the episode, drat. Don’t you just hate it when that happens?

Hey ho, at least it was my favourite who won, that rarely happens on the Next Top Model shows!

That’s reminded me though, a friend told me about a site called EveryStyle.co.uk that I was meaning to check out. You know how usually when you browse clothing sites you have to find something you like, then see if they have it in your size? With this site it is more of a fashion search engine you can just search for exactly what you want right off the bat, so if you are looking for a specific size or colour you can do just that. They also let you search particular merchants by price including some of my favourites like Dorothy Perkins and New Look :)

I wish I had known about it when I was searching like a mad woman for suitable shoes for the wedding I went to at the weekend, it sure would have saved me a lot of time and hassle. I think that the just reduced section is going to become my new best friend.

Shopping and Bargains? How can a girl resist.

Goodbye Danio

danioI just got around to watching last weeks episode of Project Runway Canada and was really saddened to read the note at the end of the episode that contestant Danio had lost his battle with cancer and passed away on February 10th.

He had left the show in the first episode of his own accord after feeling he was too unwell to continue, and even though he was only there for one challenge he came across as a really nice bloke and already established himself as ‘one to watch’ among the other contestants and judges.

I was absolutely certain he would return for a second chance in season three and it’s sad that won’t now happen.

My thoughts are with his loved ones and may he rest in peace.
