My other half just got a new XBox, I say new, of course it’s second hand — he picked it up off of eBay for £5 — he used to have one and absolutely loved it but it died a few years ago, the sound on it went I think and he’s always been talking about replacing it but never got around to it. Now he’s a happy bunny playing all his old games and it means I get to watch as much Big Brother Live streaming as I want without him moaning, woohoo.

So, my fiance went out and got us a new bed? Nice huh?

Well, no actually — I am always the one that decides on our decor and furniture…it’s a dangerous game him doing it.

His boss was selling it off cheap because they have another baby on the way so need to clear out the spare room and turn it into a nursery. Husband to be thought that it was such a good deal for a big expensive bed that it was worth the risk that I wouldn’t like it.

I suppose he’s right really, though he should know I generally don’t like divan beds. But I guess money is the most important thing when you are struggling in this economy as we are — not what it looks like. Plus it is super comfortable and easy to sleep on as it was a really expensive and high quality purchase originally.

Though if I did have my way I would have wanted a nice brown or black leather one — I just think they look so sexy and modern, whereas divans look old fashioned to me. Time4Sleep.co.uk have loads of leather beds that tickle my fancy and at really great prices too.

Oh well, nothing I can do about it now.

…just want to take this break from my normal televisual related ramblings to wish my gorgeous soon to be husband a happy 30th birthday for today.

It’s hard to believe we are both almost 30 now, when we got together we were both young adults in our early 20s. Now I feel like we are ‘proper’ adults, the grey hair and wrinkles are on the way!

He’s spending the day with friends, they have something planned for him but I am not sure what — they wouldn’t tell me because they know I wouldn’t have been able to keep it a secret, but I suspect either paint balling or go-karting.

Then we will be going out for some pub grub and a few drinks. It’s almost a shame it’s the hottest day in the UK for several years today, as I am sure he’d actually rather just be laying out in the back garden!

If I do end up getting my beloved and much wanted pooch, I will definitely be kitting it out with all the accessories and dog toys I can get my hands on — I will spoil it rotten that’s for sure.

Fancy collars, killer pet beds, winter coats — you name it, if it’s cute I am there!

I was thinking I might try and convince the husband to be on a cat first, and then build up to a dog, as cats are not as expensive…what do they need except food, drink and maybe a few scratching posts ? Plus they are a lot more independent — they take themselves for a walk so you don’t have to

Or I could do what I saw on TV today. The Biggest Loser UK contestants got a video message from home and one of the woman’s kids came on screen and announced they had been a big naughty in her absence….and got a dog! Something she had said a categorical ‘NO’ to.

But I like their thinking, once the dog is owned and in the house and all fallen in love with — who could say no? You’d surely have to have a heart of stone, and as grumpy as he may be, my husband to be does not have a heart of stone!

You know what I wish they would create? Heart Rate Monitor watches that actually look half decent! I just got a new one today and I love the functionality of it, but I can’t wear it all the time as a day to day watch because it simply isn’t gorgeous enough — not like a Timex, I would love to be able to own one of their traditional leather watches, I might even treat myself to one some time in the next few weeks.

Although I did get a new watch for Christmas, my lovely husband to be bought it for me but…and shh now don’t tell him…but I don’t really like it that much.

Jewellery and watches are such personal items I think, it’s always best to let someone choose their own because no matter how well you think you know someone it is hard to get it right. I bought him a Timex watch last Christmas and it was great, top of the range and really classy — but he didn’t like it, he couldn’t explain why, he just didn’t.

My darling husband to be asked me to ‘Pimp his iPhone’ earlier, quite why he couldn’t do this himself I am not sure — but since he’s hot and I rather like him I said “sure, no problem, what you want?”

He told me to just pick for him. So I went on a quest to find Simpsons, Snooker and Babe related goodies!

A quick search brought me to iPhoneAtmo.com, they offer loads of great looking iphone wallpaper absolutely free.

This is great because we hate paying for things, who doesn’t right? But we are especially tight, and proud

They already had one Simpsons wallpaper on the site and since he had the same image on his desktop at one point I knew he’d like it. Unsurprisingly they have a Babes category jam packed with content — funny that they are always the busiest areas on wallpaper sites, isn’t it? hehe — but I couldn’t possibly be seen to encourage him to look at other ladies, so I went with Homer’s brain.

This site also offers some free and complete iphone themes, which I have found are a lot harder to come across.

Best thing about the site is that you can make requests, so if you don’t already see what you fancy give them a shout and they’ll make it and add it to the site for yourself and every one else to enjoy. Hurrah.

I am hoping to receive a necklace from my lovely husband to be for Valentines Day

We don’t usually really do gifts on Valentines Day, a card and maybe a little something is the usual route — but I have come across a necklace I really love and he was meant to get me one at Christmas but didn’t because I couldn’t find one I liked that we could afford.

It’s sterling silver, has to be because I am allergic to pretty much any thing else, t-bar and is just a nice small open heart. It’s really nice.

I will have to start with the hinting, and if that doesn’t get his attention within a few days I shall just have to give him a harder nudge hehe
