Home Theater

I think I am going to spend some time reading some home theater reviews this afternoon as I would love to change the back room into a little theater. My fiance and I watch a lot of TV and movies so it would be awesome to get a proper fully kitted out theater to enjoy them in rather than just sitting on the sofa – it’s a comfy sofa, but it’s just not the same is it?

Other films I am excited about

I also can’t wait to Watch The Expendables, and Get me to the Greek, and The A Team and actually loads of others – it’s funny because we had free tickets to see any thing we wanted at the cinema a few weeks ago and there was literally nothing either of us were interested in and now all of a sudden there’s a flood.

The Expendables has some seriously big names in it, true legends. I just hope it lives up to the hype and isn’t some awfully cheesy cliche from start to finish!

And thanks to the wonders of the Internet I will be able to find out sooner rather than later as you can stream most movies as soon as they come out, sometimes even before they come out!

Grown ups

I am looking forward to watching a few movies at the moment, I have had Kick-ass on my to watch list for ages and am now also really excited to Watch Grown Ups that gets released in August. It has Adam Sandler in it and the gorgeous Salma Hayek and I do love my Dennis Dugan comedies.

The movie follows a group of guys who have been friends since they were kids and shows us they have not done the best job at actually growing up and acting their age – like a lot of men we all know hey? ;)

Looking forward to it!

Day Tripping in Leeds

We’re visiting my parents at the moment back in Yorkshire, I always love coming home even at 30 years old as I lived her for my entire life previous to moving to the Midlands.

We are going to head into Leeds on Monday to do some shopping, it’s only around 10 minutes on the train and usually makes for a good day out. I always love visiting The Corn Exchange and having a cuppa in Costa, we’ll also likely spend 30 minutes in one of the Quicksilver Games Arcades as it is a bit of a tradition whenever we go to either a seaside or a city!

We’ll also be having something to eat in The Cuthbert Brodrick and then finishing off at the cinema to finally see Avatar 3D :)

The name’s Bond…

james_bond_skiingEver noticed that James Bond likes to Ski? Probably not as it’s a bit of a random fact, but as someone who grew up on James Bond movies thanks to my Dad it is something that I noticed because I always seemed to come away from watching them wanting to look up and book myself ski holidays despite previously having no interest in them. I believe we’ve seen James Bond skiing, usually away from gun wielding criminals, in at least 5 of the films – including the first Bond film I ever watched way back when I was just 5 years old – A View to a Kill. Also in my all time favourite Bond film – The World is Not Enough.

I was just thinking the other day that it’s been a while since a Bond movie came out and went to see what was coming next, and I realised I have not actually seen the last two! That would definitely explain why it seems like it has been a while as the last one I saw was Die Another Day in 2002. I have not even seen Daniel Craig in action yet.

Looks like I know what my plans for next weekend are, James Bond catch up time. Awesome :)

Watching Movies Online

It’s very useful that you can Watch movies online these days, because I do love to Watch movies but tend to find myself being too unmotivated to go to the cinema or rent them — I rarely think movies sound good from synopsis so I never know which to choose and usually decide not to bother.

When they are so easily accessible it’s so much easier to just load one up and start watching it, and hey if it’s not floating my boat 30 minutes into it I can always stop watching and try something else!

Isn’t the Internet a wonderful place :)

Summer of Cinema here I come

popcorn and movieI have to say I am not that much of a movie buff, in that I rarely get excited about upcoming movies or know much about them…I just watch what I watch and I either like it or I don’t. I often go on these free screenings here in the UK, where you get to see films before they come out and I always go to them ‘blind’, I don’t read reviews or synopsis before going — but then get a kick out of reading them afterwards and realising that 9 times out of 10 the ones I like the sound of I don’t enjoy and vice verse, strange huh?

TheFilmReview.com is a UK based film review site that I came across a while ago, I will definitely add it to my bookmarks to use next time I am planning a trip to the cinema.

I just watched their Summer of Cinema trailer, that has information about what is to come over summer 2009 and there are a few films instantly added to my list such as the new transformers movie and the new Seth Rogan one.
