I’ve been Bidazzled!

This is a Sponsored Post written by me on behalf of Bidazzled. All opinions are 100% mine.

Don’t you just love the reverse auction sites that seem to have started popping up all over the Internet in the last year?

I remember when I first started using regular auction sites and it was all exciting, after many years of using them they lose the buzz so having something a little new and different is always welcomed :)

The most recent one I came across was Bidazzled – it’s a US based auction site that launched just last month but is growing fast. I saw someone posting about them on a coupon code site I post on because at the moment there are loads of codes you can use when you register in order to get free bids – if you use code BBP1202A before January 15th you’ll get 15 free bids worth $15.

All you have to do then is place your bids on the item(s) you want and sit back and hope no one else bids before the timer runs out – a few seconds are added each time someone bids. Most of the items end up selling for over 80% off retail price. There’s also an affiliate program for those that are into marketing where you can earn extra bids for each person who signs up under you and then even ones that sign up under them!

Be a Dirt Devil

This is a Sponsored Post written by me on behalf of Dirt Devil. All opinions are 100% mine.

2009dirtdevilguide_250x250When you are considering what gift to give someone for Christmas perhaps a vacuum cleaner isn’t going to be the first thing that comes to most peoples minds. But the simply fact is people need new vacuums and Christmas is as good a time as any to get one.

If you’re anything like me you will love getting a good bargain, nothing quite beats that feeling of doing your research and deciding which item you want – then finding out how much less you can get it for.

Dirt Devil have created a super useful online shopping shortcuts that proved to be an interesting read. As a hardcore online bargain hunter I thought I already knew all there was to know – I already search for coupons, I use cashback sites and I know all the best price comparison sites. But a few of the tips were useful for me and things I had not previously considered – they have links to some great resources too, including websites that collaborate the best black Friday and cyber Monday deals and sites that list discount coupons and the list of abbreviations often used in the shopping and bargain world was especially useful.

It’s officially Christmas month!

Despite Christmas adverts airing on the telly since late November and countless emails from companies telling me that Christmas is almost here – I refuse to start my Christmas shopping until December, heck I refuse to even think about what to buy people until December nevermind actually go out and get it!

Well now I can start thinking about it and I have decided to reign in the spending this year, I usually go overboard and despite my bargain hunting skills I still usually spend a small fortune.

Bulova-Watch-Dress-96B001I may still splash out on my fiance and buy him a nice watch though, I was looking at Bulova chronograph watches on BlueDial.com earlier and I think they might be just the ticket – they have loads of brands and styles with upto 70% off usual retail prices. I think he’d really like the style and design of the Bulova Dress 96B001 watch and at that price it really wouldn’t break the bank.

I was supposed to be buying him a watch for his birthday back in July but never got around to picking one out for him – he ended up with a heart rate monitor and cheap summer coat instead!

So I am sure he would appreciate it :)

I love shopping promotions!

man_sale_shopping_300_rfpwoAs you probably know by now from reading this blog, the only thing that comes even close to my love of watching trashy television and then blogging about it, is shopping — not just shopping, but bargain shopping and taking up all the great promotions I find online!

Just today I had a pair of jeans and a lovely top delivered that cost me a grand total of £1 after using a voucher I found online, they were £5.50 each but I used a code to get free delivery and £10 off — you can’t beat that for a bargain hey?

You can’t beat that feeling full stop :)

I use many many sites to aid me with my bargain hunting, every thing from price comparison sites and voucher code sites to cashback sites and bargain information forums. It really is a lot of fun!

Someone just sent me the link to SuperCoolCoupons.com where they have some, well, super cool coupons obviously :)

They also help you to find great promotional offers to help you save even more.

I am always happy to add more sites like this to my savvy shopping bookmarks folder, the more the better! Please share any sites you use for your savvy shopping in the comments.

Cool gadgets

yhst-38176160243944_1973_34706018I am terrible when it comes to buying gifts for my dad, come his birthday, or Christmas, or Father’s day I am always left scratching my head and panicking. For as many years as I can remember now he’s ended up with some ‘fancy’ beer and a chocolate bar — how very unimaginative of me hey?

I should really get him more Electronic Gadgets because I know in general he likes those, he’s a techy kinda guy but always thinks gadgets are overprices so doesn’t buy them himself.

I think that next time a gift giving opportunity comes around I am going to get him one of those remote control helicopters, I think he’d like that :)

Shopping Spreee

….ugh the word spree just reminded me of Sree from Big Brother, the obnoxious little toad.

clarks-shoesAny way, I just went on a shopping spree…my favourite kind in fact, a Clarks shoes shopping spree!

I won’t be keeping all the pairs I ordered unfortunately, my bank balance does not stretch that far. But I ordered 8 pairs….trainers, high heals, boots.

Can’t wait for them to arrive :)

More Shopping

I’ve been doing a little online shopping today.

Moi? Online Shopping? Shock!

I know that shopping and watching TV are all I ever seen to do, but I do have a life outside that, no honest I do.

sunglassesI came across Exspecto.com, a great shopping search engine and there was no stopping me — you can search by category, by merchants and by price range. I found some great sunglasses ready for the summer for just £5, bargains.

What I like best though is that you can set a PriceAlert, so if there’s something you want but don’t fancy paying the price you can currently find it for, it will keep searching for you and let you know when it comes up at a price you are willing to pay. Neato! I have some things on my want list at the moment :)

Shopping, again!

paris-hilton-sunglassesI am going shopping again on Friday this week, I feel like I have done nothing but shop recently…but that’s OK, as it is my favourite hobby!

I am planning on getting many things, including some new Smith Super Method sunglasses ready for the fast approaching for the summer season. I have always loved sunglasses but felt any fashionable or trendy ones didn’t suit me, I love the big Paris Hilton style ones that are all the rage at the moment but didn’t dare bother getting last year…now I have more confidence in general due to losing weight and whatnot I have decided what the heck and I am going to get some. Go me :)

I just did a search online and came across YourSunEssentials.com they sell loads of products at really great prices, including sunglasses and much more and they offer really fast shipping – I sort of wish I hadn’t found the site though because I could easily order every thing I need from there and therefore don’t now need to go shopping, erm, err, boo.

I will have to find another excuse to get my darling husband to be to take me into town, I am sure I can come up with something :)

What to wear

You wouldn’t believe the trouble I have had over the last few weeks trying to find a dress to wear for a wedding I am going to next Saturday.

yhst-50958542405417_2050_439259760It’s a pretty foreign concept to me, being skinny enough to wear pretty dresses — the last time I went to a wedding in 2006 I was wearing a size 22 and it was a case of just buying something that fit and didn’t look too much like a tent, I did not feel confident in what I was wearing but then…I didn’t feel confident full stop.

Now I have a whole world of gorgeous formal dresses opened up to me I just don’t know where to begin.

I didn’t know what styles suited me, I didn’t know what shapes suited me, I didn’t know what colours suited me, I didn’t know what dresses were ‘weddingy’, what shoes to wear with what dress etc etc

Several shopping trips and three returned outfits later I finally have it sorted. I am wearing a gorgeous bronze coloured empire line dress that comes to just below the knee, a little orange shrug on the top and killer brown heals and a satin clutch bag.

Hopefully I will feel confident in this one :)
