The Biggest Loser USA – Again? Groan

tara-savors-her-recent-victroriesSomething shocking happened in this weeks biggest loser usa, Tara won a challenge!! ZOMG!!

Oh no, wait…that’s not very shocking, she’s won every single freaking challenge for the last 17 weeks. Good for her, really, she’s strong and determined — but my word is it boring for us viewers to watch the same person win again and again and again.

This season feels like it’s been going on forever any way, it is the longest one yet, but the fact that every week it’s the same damn thing (Tara wins the challenge, Tara doesn’t fall below the yellow line, someone from Bob’s team goes home!) really doesn’t help.

Two weeks left, I will be glad when this one is over.

What a bunch of losers!

I think that the current American Biggest Loser is my least favourite ever, in fact yes, yes it absolutely is.

This week just cemented it for me. What an absolutely awful bunch of people — Heba? Vicky? Come back, all is forgiven.

Ok not quite, but at least those guys were playing the roll of the bad guys, this current lot really are just…bad.

What a bunch of whiney, whingey, moaning, depressing, negative, uninspiring people they are. If ever a whole seasons worth of contestants is going to gain the weight back it’s this lot, it seems like they just don’t get it at all — none of them struggled with the temptation, it was just shovel it down as fast as possible and for what? The power to cast the soul vote? WhoopDeDoo. If they were playing for a golden ticket to the finale I would have got it, but the prize was actually shit and they trowelled that food down as fast as their little hands would let them.

Kristen was the only one not gorgeing, but was that because it was wrong? Against every thing they’d learned? A bad example? No, it was simply strategy, part of her game plan — speaking of, I was counting the use of the word ‘game’ this episode, and gave up after number 50!

They’ll all be fat again within two years. Fact.

sione-faAlso, Sione becoming a personal trainer — I am not OK with that. It’s nothing personal, I think it’s great he wants to motivate and help others in that way, I just don’t think that several months on the Biggest Loser ranch qualifies someone for that position. Seriously, he’s been overweight his whole life and healthy for a few months — he got healthy in a very extreme and unrealistic environment — he needs at least a few years with the weight off, some training for himself by other trainers and some serious eduction first.

The Biggest Loser Not in a Nutshell

Ok so I suppose I should expand on my last post about The Biggest Loser USA a little, though I do believe my previously description of events sums it up.

I do wish that the producers would be more consistent with the immunity rules though, they seem to pick and choose when the rule that you lose immunity if you gain applies or not — if it suits them it applies, if not it doesn’t. Typical TV show production I guess, but it’s annoying.

I definitely feel sorry for Nicole, she achieved amazing things on the outside and was then brought back into the cesspool of negativity, whining and drama that this season has become. It’s no wonder she gained weight, going from her happy and loving home environment into that.

Tara was once again exposed as a self obsessed brat.

“I am number one on the leader board”, “She’s behind me”, “Don’t get sucked into the drama Nicole, stick with me, we can push each other”, “It’s great that Nicole is here, that will really make me up my game!” — annnd “I vote to eliminate Nicole because she’s a threat”.

Nice one Tara.

Laura, luckiest contestant ever? She gained weight but did not fall below the line — three people gained weight this week, that’s bad man, has that ever happened before?

ron-and-mike-brown-team-biggest-loserAnd finally, Ron really needs to get over this idea that the others owe him and/or his son anything. It’s an attitude he’s had throughout but it’s really wearing thin now — every one works hard and deserves to be there, get over yourself mate.

The Biggest Loser USA – Episode # 4533

That’s what it feels like any way, how long has this season been going on exactly?

Watching the opening titles a lot of the situations and teams seem like forever ago to me, the orange team, the red team, those black boys and all that drama with the silver bullets — wow.

tara-biggest-loser-13jan09-150x150I am starting to wonder if Tara is perhaps a little bit on the slow side? And by slow I mean — stupid.

All that whingeing and moaning about being ganged up on, being picked on, being bullied, oh how unfair that every one wants to target her.

She’s the current biggest loser, she has been losing weight like a machine, she smokes every one in the challenges. She’s strong.

Does she really expect people to just roll over and let her take every thing? Does she really not understand that they want to win also?
Does she really expect them to just hand her the title?

She proved to them they were right in doing what they did by going on to win the challenge despite the deficit, that’s why they are all ‘picking on you’, well that and the fact you are incredible annoying, arrogant and wouldn’t know how to be humble if your life depended on it.

Of course they are going to try and make it as hard as possible for you, you silly sausage, get over it woman.

In other news, I am rooting for Kristen for the win — I think she can do it :)

The Biggest Loser, Jillians last season?

jillianI am stating to hope the rumours that this is Jillians last season are true, she’s getting on my nerves — though I am willing to give her the benefit of the doubt and blame it on a bad edit from the producers.

The way she was practically boasting about Philipe and Siones relatively poor weight loss over the last few weeks, since they stopped working out with her was shameful — it reminded me of the way she was with Harry on his return to the game way back in Biggest Loser Australia season one. The fact she’s completely written them off is surprising, the way she’s happy to see them fail is just not cool.

Also with the piece to camera about how she’s the shit and every one should listen to her. Well, yeah she’s the trainer and she knows what she’s doing…of course people should listen to her, but damn woman don’t make out like you are infallible — some times people have small loses or gain weight just because they do, because their body says so.

It’s happened on your watch, when a contestant has followed your instructions to the letter!

As for Tara, I am happy to see she’s finally hit that wall and had two bad weeks — this is when her character will be tested, this is when we see if she really is this super strong and determined woman she portrays herself as. Will she dust herself off, follow her trainers instructions and bounce back — or will she meltdown and whinge about how it’s all so unfair?

Can’t wait to find out.

Biggest Loser Cliff Hanger!!!!!

I loved Mr Voice Over Man calling this years contestants ‘The fattest ever’, I don’t know why — I think usually they keep it a lot more PC and skirt around the F word, calling them big, heavy and large etc instead.

Now is it just me or did the powers that be preview some sort of Sione melt down, a freak out about Bob not working with him on the treadmill or something? Only, they then never showed it in the episode — unless I fell asleep and missed it, which is possible, I’ve been known to do that hehe.

taraTara, still find her annoying but you gotta hand it to her — girl is a freaking machine. I keep thinking that this week must be her ‘bad week’, every one gets them…no matter how strong or how hard they work, sooner or later every one usually hits a wall. How is she avoiding it? I actually think it might do her some good to have that bad week, learning how to deal with failures in weight loss is an important part of the journey.

Finally…cliff hanger? Oh noes, I hate cliff hangers…they mean I have to like, wait, to find out results and stuff. Grr.

Having said that I think the results are pretty obvious.

Mike does something selfless and kind.
Jillian talks about karma.
Mike is the last one to weigh in, it all hangs on him losing 10 pounds.

It’s be pretty darned rude of the producers to have him not pull the 10 now, wouldn’t it?

Still wishing Tara would shut up.

biggestloserSomeone asked me the other day why I am ‘Sooo 1999′ when it comes to The Biggest Loser, after they had explained to me what the heck the meant by that — I understood they were asking me why I don’t usually post about the episode that airs on a Tuesday night until the following weekend.

Well it’s quite simple really. Because I don’t watch it until the weekend, duh.

I am a Biggest Loser junkie as you know, the Australian version is on six days a week currently — every day except Saturday, so as to avoid having a day when I don’t get to see an episode of The Biggest Loser I save the US version for Saturdays and then blog about it either that night or the following day.

So there.

Nothing much to say about this weeks episode though. Tara and her superior attitude continues to annoy me, even the voice over guy was in on the action this week asking ‘Will her partner let her down again?‘. Get over yourself woman, if you were all that you wouldn’t be overweight in the first place.

Editors need a lesson in subtlety, I knew Pink were falling below the line as soon as they showed us them confidently saying they’d be ‘Fine’ this week several times…come on now, we know that means the opposite is going to happen.

Finally, as much as I like brown I did want to see them fall below the yellow line this week, only because I wanted to see if Jillians crew would stay good to their word of voting off the person who wants to go home (dad) rather than the biggest threat (son), some how I don’t think so.

The Biggest Loser: Shut up Tara

tbl…Bob’s team, wrong choice.

Oh man watching the episode I was hoping to see a bit of beautiful karma in action, I was already planning the blog post in my head as the episode went a long.

But alas, Bob’s team were weak and did ‘The right thing’ by voting out Blaine, despite him not being the biggest threat, despite Bob telling them not to, despite the fact the black team went against their direct wishes and voted out his biggest threat just a few weeks earlier.

I hope it comes back to bite them in the ass, I am now rooting for Dane to win the lot.

In other Biggest Loser news — Shut up Tara, please just shut up. She’s annoying me more and more each week, she has the ‘Heba factor’ about her in that she thinks she’s the shit, she thinks she’s better than the rest of the people there and believes that the world does, or at least should, revolve around her.

I can’t wait until she gets knocked down a peg or two.
