You know a lot, you don’t know everything Boblian!

Bob and Jillian annoy me more and more each episode. I think it’s safe to say my days of hero worshipping them are long gone.

They get far too involved in the drama and just seem to be being fake and acting the whole time.

Now don’t get me wrong that woman on the red team is annoying, every time she does a piece to camera I want to turn over, she seems like the sort of woman that you’d see coming towards you and groan and instantly start thinking about your escape strategy – she’s just so brash. But the whole “How dare you doubt us, we know everything” nonsense from Bob and Jill after she weighed in was ridiculous – no Boblian, you might know a lot but you don’t know everything. How many times have we had shots of them, hands on head, mouths wide open saying “I don’t know how that happened” after someone has weighed in? Either when they had done an amazing result or when they had done a poor one – there has been many times Bob and Jillian didn’t understand a result so they need to stfu!

Ali Vincent is not the first ever female biggest loser

jodieprengerfinaleIt’s always got on my nerves that people in the show say it in way that it seems like they are the first – before Ali won it was always:

“I want to be the first ever female biggest loser!”

After she won it was always:

“It’s great that a woman has finally won it!”

The Australian and US shows are both as guilty of it but although it annoyed me it was pretty easy to brush off safe in the knowledge they probably meant “…in the USA/Australian version” but just didn’t feel it necessary to add that part every time.

So colour me shocked and super annoyed when during the Biggest Loser Where Are They Now special that I only just got around to watching, Ali Vincent says:

“I am the first female biggest loser in the world. Period”

*Splutter Cough Die*

What? does she actually think that? Like really? Why has no one told her that she was beaten to it by the UKs Jodie Pregner way back in 2006? Why would she just assume it to be true – surely if you are going to go around saying something like that you’d at least check it’s accurate first.

The mind boggles and I hope someone has at least now set her straight.

Biggest Loser USA Week 5

I actually got around to watching this weeks episode early in the hopes I could avoid spoilers, and it worked :)

Unfortunately it wasn’t a very interesting episodes. Sending one team home for the week was a pretty neat idea I think – but there were no real stand out moments for me to wax lyrical about.

One thing that made me chuckle;

Team: Half dead digging about in the sand for a mystery prize.
Ali: Keep going guys, remember what you are playing for.
Rebecca: We don’t know, you didn’t tell us!
Ali: Oh yeah *laughs*, well, it’s a good one!

NUP_135192_0117One thing that made me grrr – Dina being discusted by her family eating unhealthy food on a night out at her old favourite restaurant. Not 2 minutes earlier she was telling us this was exactly the sort of stuff she was eating 6 weeks ago – yet she expects her family to just quit it all overnight because she has? There’s nothing worse than a judgemental former fatty! I wasn’t sad to see her ultimately sent home.

Heck even Tracey let me down this week, she was being nice, working hard and getting on with everyone – not an evil plan or eye rolling out of her head moment in sight. Come on girl, you are the season villain – you can do better than that!

Biggest Loser Week 4

I have only seen the first half of the episode so far, I will no doubt have more to say once I have seen the rest.

crazyeyesFirstly I need to start watching the episodes sooner. I added a bunch of contestants past and present on Facebook this week but forgot to take into account that they’d all be discussing the show – I am very anti spoilers as you know, so knowing exactly what happens in the episodes ruin them for me.

So either watch ‘em faster or remove them all as friends again, boo.

On to the show itself – Dina and jumping on the footstool, what am I missing? I simply didn’t understand the difficulty she was having with it at all…just…yanno…jump on it.

I will never understand why Bob and Jillian go along with the drama and crying when it comes to people switching teams or losing their partners — I feel like they ought to be telling them to suck it up and that it will ultimately make them stronger. I lost a lot of love for Bob last year when he did this and I feel the same again this year. I thought the UK lot were bad when this happened in the last UK series, but I clearly hadn’t seen any thing yet…Bob is not always going to be your trainer, you can’t take him home with you in your pocket…Rudy is not always going to be your partner, you can’t take him home with you in your pocket. Might as well get used to that now than in a few weeks time. Drama Queens.

Liz and Rebecca are nasty. I can’t get my head around every one hating on Tracy for the way she split the teams, she was never going to be able to make everyone happy and I actually think she split them pretty fairly. Liz and Rebecca’s reactions to the fact she didn’t do what they wanted were especially pathetic. She won the power, it’s her call bitches.

I also didn’t understand why the black team kept being referred to as the underdogs, as I said above the teams seemed pretty evenly stacked to me.

Big Brother USA is back!!

I love Big Brother USA and am so happy it’s back for it’s 11th season, but I have to say 2 episodes in and I am not loving it too much — Jessie is back, Jessie? Of all the people they could have selected to return they chose that meat-head!

Also the cliques twist, don’t like it one bit. In the UK we don’t have such ridiculous cliques in schools — of course some people are more popular than others and there are some cliques, but it’s nothing like America is portrayed on TV and in movies. It always strikes me as extremely pathetic, so having a whole season based on them is — meh!

6-29-2009-bb-house-07I love love love the swimming pool bedroom though, they should have done more themed ones, like one with classroom desks as beds and lockers are wardrobes. That’s one area the US version knocks socks off the UK one, much more imaginative and they probably use our entire series budget in one task most weeks :)

Can’t wait to see how it develops :)

I love the Office

the-office2I have seen every episode several times over and obsessed over it, but I am talking about the original UK version — I have never even given the American version a chance and I don’t plan to start now.

I love offices in general, that makes me sound lame but I get excited by paper and printers and a good office chair can make me squeal with excitement.

So a show set in an office that is quirky and funny is great by me and is always going to be a hit.

The reason I object to the USA version is because they were on about season 23 within a few years of it starting over there, whereas we only had a few series full stop. How can it possibly be of the same quality when they bash it out so fast?

Maybe I would watch it and love it, why not, America loves it? But I don’t want to give it a chance, I am sticking to my guns about it.

I need to buy some new dresses for work. Think I will hit up one of my favourite online stores and see what they have, I haven’t been on a spending spree for a few months now and I am long over due some new stuff :)

Biggest Cheaters?

Watching the UK version of the biggest loser makes me wonder if all those guys from the USA and Australian versions are throwing pure ephedrine and the like down their necks, because their weight loss is much higher than in the UK version. Really I don’t think that’s it, the obvious explanation seems to be that in the UK version a week is actually a week, in the USA and Australian versions it is well known to be any where from 10 days to 3 weeks!

Something Different, Hurrah.

dancewearI love it when on The Biggest Loser, both the USA and Australian versions, they show work outs that are something a little different to the norm. They had a dance workout on The Biggest Loser Australia this series and it made me want to rush out and buy dancewear and get started myself, last season they had a boxing class and that had the same effect on me. I am sure the contestants appreciate it also, the probably spend a few hours per day on the same piece of gym equipment — any thing that breaks up the monotony must be good for their souls!

What a bunch of losers!

I think that the current American Biggest Loser is my least favourite ever, in fact yes, yes it absolutely is.

This week just cemented it for me. What an absolutely awful bunch of people — Heba? Vicky? Come back, all is forgiven.

Ok not quite, but at least those guys were playing the roll of the bad guys, this current lot really are just…bad.

What a bunch of whiney, whingey, moaning, depressing, negative, uninspiring people they are. If ever a whole seasons worth of contestants is going to gain the weight back it’s this lot, it seems like they just don’t get it at all — none of them struggled with the temptation, it was just shovel it down as fast as possible and for what? The power to cast the soul vote? WhoopDeDoo. If they were playing for a golden ticket to the finale I would have got it, but the prize was actually shit and they trowelled that food down as fast as their little hands would let them.

Kristen was the only one not gorgeing, but was that because it was wrong? Against every thing they’d learned? A bad example? No, it was simply strategy, part of her game plan — speaking of, I was counting the use of the word ‘game’ this episode, and gave up after number 50!

They’ll all be fat again within two years. Fact.

sione-faAlso, Sione becoming a personal trainer — I am not OK with that. It’s nothing personal, I think it’s great he wants to motivate and help others in that way, I just don’t think that several months on the Biggest Loser ranch qualifies someone for that position. Seriously, he’s been overweight his whole life and healthy for a few months — he got healthy in a very extreme and unrealistic environment — he needs at least a few years with the weight off, some training for himself by other trainers and some serious eduction first.
